REALTORS®

If your profession is real estate, then politics is your business.  Only by influencing our federal, state and local legislators can we ensure that looming encumbrances to our business and homeowners, like property tax increases, lack of available financing and financial burdens on the real estate transaction DO NOT become law.

So how can you personally get behind these important legislative fights to protect your livelihood and the American Dream of Homeownership?  There are two important ways:

INVEST IN THE REALTOR® POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE

RPAC is nonpartisan and contributes to and works with candidates who are REALTOR® allies, regardless of the letter behind their names. The stronger RPAC is, the stronger REALTORS® are to thwart these attacks on our industry. That’s why we need you to support RPAC. To make a contribution, click the gavel above and be sure to have your NRDS ID ready

RESPOND TO CALLS TO ACTION

Peridoically, there are federal or state legislative issues on the table that are so important to our profession and homeownership that NAR or GAR, respectively, will send out a Call For Action. A CFA is a powerful yet simple way that you can voice your REALTOR® opinion to your relevant legislator with an email advising him or her of your strong support for (or opposition to) the legislation in question. So watch out for these Calls for Action, and please respond!!

Brokers! A simple way you can improve the response rate of your agents is to have the Call For Action emailscome directly from you, rather than NAR! It’s called the Broker Involvement Program, and all it takes is a quick enrollment by clicking here.

Thank you for getting involved, and for contributing to the long term health of our industry and Homeownership!

*GARPAC contributions are voluntary and are used for political purposes. Contributions are not deductible for Federal Income Tax purposes. The Association will not favor or disadvantage anyone by reason of the amount of their contribution, and you may refuse to contribute without reprisal by the Association. Seventy percent of each contribution is split between Georgia RPAC to support state and local political candidates and Georgia RIAC for issues mobilization and education. Thirty percent is sent to National RPAC to support federal candidates and is charged against your limits under 2 U.S.C. 441a.
