Annual Fall Jamboree and Auctions Raises Over $16,000 for RPAC – CAR Smashes Annual Fundraising Goal by 19%
In an evening filled with great fun, food, prizes and entertainment, the Cobb Association of REALTORS® RPAC Committee exceeded their wildest fundraising expectations, by raising over $16,000 for RPAC in a single night.
The event, held October 11 at the Brickyard in Marietta, featured 70 Live and Silent Auction Items, which were bid on aggressively by all in attendance. Golf, Gun Club and Georgian Club Memberships, Mountain Weekend Vacations, Atlanta Hawks and Atlanta United Tickets and so much more were on offer, thanks to the generosity of our Members, Affiliates, and outside providers.
We were especially fortunate to have Mr. Lynn Dempsey, as our Live Auctioneer. Mr. Dempsey, as you may know, is currently the Georgia Real Estate Commissioner, and he ignited the crowd with this energy, charisma, charm and professional auctioneering skills.
Said Mr. Dempsey, “Words cannot express how awesome it was to work with you and your crew last night. I guess I miss it (auctioneering) more than I realize, but I had a ball and as I told you, not many people have this type of auction professionally organized to the “T” like you did.”
Said RPAC Committee Chair Sierra Westrick, “I am so proud of my RPAC Committee Members, who have been working for months to put this unbelievably successful event together. Auctions require so much teamwork and attention to detail, and I can’t thank them enough. I also want to express my sincere gratitude to our Sponsors: Premier Sponsors Georgia MLS and Geheren Firm, and Gold Sponsors Dickason Law, Manning Properties and Vinings Bank.
In early 2018, the Committee established a $50,000 goal for RPAC Fundraising. As a result of this event, that goal was obliterated, with funds raised totaling of $59,000 at this writing. Said CAR President Judi Wilcher, “Such a performance represents CAR’s commitment to defending the rights of property owners and our industry on behalf of our Membership. I am so proud of this team and what they have been able to accomplish”.
